Teriyaki Chicken Wing Recipe
This is a great alternative for those who for some unknown reason don't like hot wings...
Baking the Wings
Using the middle oven rack bake the wings on a parchment-lined pan at 400°F for 30 min. until crispy.
Make the Sauce
- 1 cup soy sauce
- 1 cup grapefruit juice
- 1/4 cup hoisin sauce (Asian aisle - most grocers)
- 1/4 cup ketchup
- 3 tablespoons rice wine vinegar
- 1/4 cup brown sugar
- 1 fresh, hot red chile, halved
- 5 garlic cloves, halved
- 2-inch piece fresh ginger, smashed with the side of a large knife
Combine the teriyaki sauce ingredients in a large saucepan. Simmer over low heat and reduce until slightly thickened.
Saucing the Wings
Place the wings into a large bowl and then pour a quantity of sauce over the wings. You want to coat the wings but not soak them.
Serving the Wings
Place the wings on a large platter and sprinkle with sesame seeds. Garnish with a sprig or two of cilantro.
